We partner with a family workshop in Kyoto that has been blending incense for three generations. They make. We design, write, and ship.

Questions

How long does one stick burn?

About 20 minutes. Long enough for a pause, short enough to not forget.

Is it safe in an apartment?

Yes. Burns at a low temperature, no open flame after lighting. The brass holder catches all ash. Uses no aerosols or synthetic fragrance.

Can I use my own holder?

Of course. But ours is worth using.

What if I hate the scent?

Tell us within 30 days. We'll refund you — the whole thing, no returns required, no arguments.

Do you ship outside the US?

What does "NOREN" mean?

A NOREN is a Japanese curtain that marks a threshold — between outside and in, work and rest, busy and still. You walk through it without really noticing. That's the point.
